Just a few pictures from our day spent with friends at
George George Park!

Connor took his first trip to the salon for his back to school haircut.
I think he enjoyed the pampering because he told me it was
way better than the barber shop where he usually gets his
hair cut!

Caroline has been wanting a feather in her hair for a few weeks
so we jumped on the bandwagon while Connor was getting his hair cut.  She loves it!

Even Katie and Sabrina visited the salon this week :)

Mia came to play yesterday and the girls decided that they wanted a sleepover.
Amazing how much I got done yesterday while Caroline was busy without me!

This next picture is not for the faint of heart...and by this I mean you, Mom.  Yowza....

And our good news of the week!  Connor is moving on to Level 2 in his swim lessons!!
Hooray...we are so proud of you buddy!!  Keep up the good work :)

Two Braids Connected

When my sister and I were little we always had our hair done; it was
just a part of our everyday routine of getting ready.
We even had names for our hairdo's...."half up, half down"..."Jo" (after Jo from the Facts of Life)
and one of our favorites..."two braids connected."  As you can probably tell, we were
very creative with the naming of our hair styles-ha! Well, today Caroline FINALLY
let me do something besides a ponytail or a clip!

We did this right after she finished up in the shower so it's still wet but it was
so pretty once it dried and she looked nice and neat all day long.
I think she felt very grown up because she was very proud to tell me that
Lilli's mom told her how much she liked her hair today ;)

And a quick picture of Connor.  Sorry the quality is so bad, but I had to take it from inside the house.
I tried to be considerate and not embarass him by running outside to snap pictures!
Here he is mowing the neighbors lawn.  At $15 a pop he was more than willing to get to work!

A little video for Nana and Papa and Grandma
and Grandpa.

(Tonights class was introducing the kids
to the butterfly stroke.  )

We hosted our first family get together this weekend to celebrate my niece's
15th birthday.  Grandma and Grandpa were the first to arrive
and Caroline thought it would be fun to play
"Cooking Mama" with her Grammy.  Thanks Lori for being a good sport!

The birthday girl and Caroline. I can only hope that my sweet girl will turn out like
her cousin.  Ali is smart with a heart of gold.  She is just as beautiful on the inside
as she is on the outside!  We love her very much.

Very typical when Ali is around.  Lots of little ones sitting on her lap or asking her
to play :)

We couldn't forget that Leah celebrated the big 5-0 a few weeks ago! Happy birthday
Leah; we hope you have a wonderful and exciting year ahead!

And finally a funny (to us) picture of Grandpa.  He posed for this one because we were
joking with him about how high he jumps whenever Lori's cell phone rings. This was
taken right after he convinced Connor to change the ring tone to something
softer. He was probably hoping for a Lawrence Welk ringtone :)

Swim Lessons and a Lesson Learned?

The kids started their swim lessons the other day at our awesome Rec Center!

Here they are meeting their instructor Angelica.  Caroline couldn't believe that
her teacher was a teenager!  And she had braces!

Connor floating :)  He is determined to get this swimming thing down pat
this time.  He told me that he wants to keep taking lessons until he
passes level 4..amazing what happens when we have friends with pools
this year! Now we just have to get him to get his face in the water...!

Caroline's turn!

He's getting there~face still not in the water but not sinking :)

My girl loves every second of these lessons.  She smiles the entire time.
(Just one of the many things I love her!)

This giant twisty slide may be Connor's greatest motivator.  I told him he can go down
after passing level 2.  Unfortunately Caroline is too little but there is a lazy river that may be just as
exciting!

And here is the "lesson learned." A few days ago I told Connor that if he slammed his
door one more time he would lose it.  Well, guess what happened last night? My hubby was Johnny on the spot with the hammer and he had that door off its hinges in about 30 seconds.  Perhaps one
of our finest parenting moments if I do say so myself! If Connor behaves himself and stops the back talking he may have his door back next week.  This could get interesting....
