Trick or Treat!
Another fun day for my kiddos :) Here are Caroline and Madyson waiting for the bus. It was super
exciting to be able to wear your costume to school!
Connor (and Lauren) during the parade at school.
Caroline leading the parade for her class!!
"Papa" and my Witch starting out for the evening!
Our little neighbor Riley was our first visitor of the night.
Caroline came in to inspect her loot....
while my boys stayed outside and relieved me of my candy duties. Come on buddy...
turn around....
a smile would have been nice but I'll take what I can get!
Happy Birthday Caroline!
Happy 6th birthday sweet girl! We sure celebrated this year....four parties in two days :)
I woke up this year wishing that I could somehow slow down time. How did my precious baby girl grow up so fast? These six years have gone by too fast but I am amazed at the beautiful, smart and funny little lady you are becoming.
Party #1. The Kindergarten celebration!
We were lucky to have Nana and Papa in town with us and Chris took the day off so we all trooped into the school to participate in the classroom party. Caroline was all smiles in her birthday crown as she passed out donuts to her classmates! She was serenaded with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" from 29 friends and two teachers. Her classmates also made her a birthday book which I'm sure will be treasured for many years to come.
Party #2. Ghost and Goblins~A Halloween Party at the school!
My little witch and Connor dressed up as his Papa :)
The birthday girl! Officially 6 today! We started off the morning with breakfast and gifts.
A Monster High doll from Aunt Pam.
A sleepover bag from Nana and Papa.
A purse, watch, jewelry and a pink Razor scooter from Mom and Dad.
Party #3. Tea Party!
Waiting for friends to arrive!
Each girl got to pick a fancy hat to wear...this was Caroline's choice!
Mia, Sienna and Caroline.
Having lunch. Fruit salad, tea sandwiches, pretzels and a choice of iced tea or lemonade. These little
ladies had such nice manners!
Make a wish!
After lunch and gifts we made haunted houses. (Caroline's request!) They all had a wonderful time decorating their little houses. Everyone did a fantastic job and I couldn't believe the amount of thought and palnning that each girl gave to their project!
Just starting...
And Caroline's finished house! I love creepy crawly spider on the roof!
Party #4. Grammy's house!
After the Tea Party and a two hour nap it was off to Grammy's!
More cupcakes and singing...
more gifts....
and more smiles....
What a wonderful weekend we had! Happy Birthday Caroline, I love you so much and can't
wait to see what this year hold for you. XOXO!

A few pictures of what's been happening here.
Connor brought home his progress report today. Not suprising
what the teacher had to say....same comments every year.....
maybe someday he'll learn to sit still and be quiet?? Probably not!
My little artist at work. Lately this is all she wants to do!
Any mother of a preschooler (or Nana or Grandma) should know who this sweet
blue bird is :) It's Zee! And a Turtle and a (sideways) whale. I love the letters Z, T and W next to each picture. Her kindergarten teacher should be proud!
And THIS is what you can find Connor doing most days. I swear, that kid knows everything about
electronics and cars.
Caroline got the Super Star award last week for being a good and
responsible friend. Way to go kiddo, we are very proud of you!
A picture I love. Most nights after Caroline goes to bed Connor and I read together.
I'm hoping that someday he will enjoy reading as much as I do, but for now I'm happy that we get to spend such great quality time together. **I'm happy to report that he has some new books to read!
Although, as someone who can re-read a book time and time again, I guess I understand how he can keep reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series again and again...**

Oh Connor..how you make me laugh every day. You are definitely a bright spot in my life, probably because of moments like these. Caroline had her first "sick day" yesterday. She was complaining of a sore throat and a hurting tummy so we decided to let her stay home and rest. Connor came down after getting dressed with the oral thermometer in hand and told me that he took his own temperature and boy was I ever so thankful that the thermometer still worked!! This is the conversation that followed between the two of us.
Connor: Caroline, lets put this in your ear and see if you have a fever!.
Me: This isn't an ear thermometer.....
Connor: (stops dead in his tracks and looks me square in the eyes) Oh....should I wash this then?
Me: Ummm, that would be a good idea.
Connor: With soap?????
Oh how I wish I would have seen you with the thermometer sticking out of your ear!!! I love that you remind me that life is funny and to enjoy the little moments. I love you so much buddy!

A is also for a job well done!
Connor had his first test of the year on Thursday and of course it had to be a math test~drats!
We made a deal....if he got a B on his test he would get a McDonald's dinner. If he got
an A he would get McDonalds and an ice cream. (bribery works in our house!) I could not have been prouder about the way my guy prepared for this test. He put in a solid 2 hours of study time each night for the three days we had prior to test day. On Wednesday night Connor told me, "I'm so gonna ace this test Mom." And guess what? He sure did.
Before dinner I had to run and pick up some shoes at Parisian so we made a quick trip
to Partridge Creek. My men weren't too thrilled about the idea of the mall until
they spotted the Apple store :) I never thought that I would get Connor out of there!
So many fun gadgets but I have to admit that Caroline and I had WAY more fun at
the jewelry store.
Some fun pictures from the ice cream parlor. Connor got
his favorite cookie dough.
Caroline clearly enjoying her ice cream! Minty mint for this funny gal.
And Papa this was taken just for you!

A is for Apple
The kids and I spent the afternoon at the orchard while Daddy spent the day
in Frankenmuth at Oktoberfest.
Madyson came with us today. Here are all three kids on the hunt for the
perfect tree. For some reason the orchard didn't have the ladders out today so we needed
to find a tree with lots of apples that the kids could reach themselves.
The girls showing off their "donut faces." I guess Caroline thought that
this needed to be a serious face???
HUGE pumpkins.
My favorite photographer wanted to take a picture of Caroline
and me. Note to self: don't leave home without lipstick.
I almost forgot to post these pictures! Last weekend we celebrated Harold's
76th birthday. I sent Chris out to pick up a cake....anyone suprised that we ended
up with carrot cake? No, me neither.
We don't have too many pictures of Grandpa with the
kids so I was very excited to get this one. Connor and Caroline
picked out a card that came with that buttom on Harold's shirt. They were thrilled
that he wore it! It says #1 Grandpa :)
